chapter 9 -A Deal worth More Than A Daughter?

In the damp smell of the hospital and the cold air of the AC, Ipshita lay alone with her eyes closed.* Her body was engulfed in extreme fatigue, as if all strength had drained from her bones. A little while ago, her parents had visited and left. The worry on their faces and the affection in their eyes had given Ipshita some comfort, but soon after they left, a strange uneasiness filled the floor of the room.

After her parents left, her mother-in-law came to see her. No, she didn't feel it necessary to ask how Ipshita was doing, or if she was in pain. Her face showed clear disappointment. After taking one glance at the beautiful newborn baby girl, she said in a heavy voice, "It's all fate! No grandson. Anyway, don't be sad. Next time, may your lap be filled with a grandson!"
